One of our best skills is downhill cable extraction using a tower yarder placed downslope. To this purpose, we have developed a special system, particularly suited to the extraction of whole trees. Felled trees complete with top and branches are hooked at two points, so that they are fully suspended during transport, avoiding any contact with the soil. This is obtained with a special carriage fitted with two separate lift lines. When this is not necessary, trees are connected to a single lift line, with a choker placed 4-8 meters from the butt end: that allows lifting the heavier part of the tree few meters above the carriage, whereas the top slides softly over the ground.
